The start of a new year brings an opportunity for reflection and goal setting, and we often start off by thinking of all the things we didn’t do or arent doing and get down on ourselves. So, I invite you to reflect on your year and think of at least 3 things that are going well for you at this moment in time. Acknowledgement can give us a boost and motivate us to continue to strive to be better.
At the beginning of last year I was celebrating my first 6 months in business and at first I felt like, what have I done? Then I did the same exercise and focused on three things I had done. I had my first private clients, I gave my first talks, and I started a group coaching class. All of them were amazing learning experiences. As much as we try to avoid it, failure always give us feedback. So, trying new things and not getting them perfect is always better than not trying them at all.
This year I’m celebrating completing my first full year and boy has it been an amazing journey. Not only did I have the opportunity to connect with some fabulous people but I also enrolled in continuing my training through the Health Coach Institute and will be completing my HMBA (Holistic Masters in Business Administration) in June of 2018. Talk about stretch!
So, as you set out for another year, pat yourself on the back for your accomplishments before setting your new goals and remember small hinges swing big doors, change takes time and consistency is the key. Be realistic but still stretch yourself and live like there’s no tomorrow.
